“One of the most satisfying aspects of working at Apak is the opportunity to be part of a productive, talented team.”
I graduated from Manchester University in 1992 with an MEng in Engineering Manufacturing and Management.
I worked for a small software company directly after university and then moved to Financial Times Information for 7 years starting in a support role and moving into software development. I then took a year off, travelling with our two children – who were very young at the time – before joining Apak in 2004 as a Developer. I started in the e-commerce team and after 18 months moved to the team redeveloping Apak’s Wholesale Finance System (WFS).
My current role involves managing a rapidly growing Development Team and establishing the long-term technical direction for WFS. I still do development, which I enjoy, although the management role now takes priority.
During my time at Apak I am especially proud of working on the complete redevelopment of WFS and the creation of a productive, talented Development Team.
One of the most satisfying aspects of working at Apak is the opportunity to be part of this team. In particular, I provide support and guidance for staff who start their careers here as graduates with no experience and then progress to technical leads and beyond.
My other favourite part of working at Apak? The freedom to make the occasional mistake (and then to fix it!).
