“The programming component this role offered really appealed to me, and the business logic element of the job was an exciting new challenge.”

I am an Analyst Programmer working as part of the banking team at Sword Apak. After graduating from Northumbria University in Computer Games Software Engineering, I applied to Sword Apak. The financial industry was not one I had worked in before but the programming component of the role really appealed to me and the business logic element of the job was an exciting new challenge.

My role entails a range of responsibilities including front-end design, database design, writing business logic, web services and report production for two of our banking clients.

I work within a relatively small team at Sword Apak. This allows my skills to improve and develop quickly but there is always someone on hand to offer assistance and advice if I need it. Learning the business rules of the banking industry is especially interesting and it has given me an insight into how these businesses work.
